Starting salary £27,319 to £29,853 a year, in the range of £27,319 to £35,646 a year (potential progression on performance once in post to £37,839).
As part of a major expansion of Systems Biology conducted in the University of Birmingham, we seek to recruit an Experimental Officer in Bioinformatics. This appointment is supported by a recent £1million investment into 'Systems Science for Health' by the University of Birmingham.
The candidate will be responsible for supporting a number of research projects in this area in respect to experimental design, data analysis and integration, applied to a wide range of experimental platforms. The Experimental Officer in Bioinformatics will also have responsibility for running training courses and will favour the development of bioinformatics expertise in the University.
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Bioinformatics or equivalent research experience. S/he will have significant hands-on experience in advanced data analysis techniques. Experience in project management is desirable but not essential.
This post is available for a period of 3 years.
